ABOUT US
European Tapestry Forum , the pan-European organisation of
professional tapestry weavers was founded in 2001.
European Tapestry Forum, set up by tapestry weavers for
tapestry weavers, seeks to encourage the continuing
development of the art of tapestry weaving in Europe.
Through its activities, European Tapestry Forum intend to:
- be a network for coordinated action, sharing of
experience and training between tapestry weavers in Europe.
- support and contribute to an ongoing development end
renewal of tapestry weaving in Europe.
- assist in the development of professional national
organisations for tapestry weavers to secure the visibility of the weavers and their
work.

The first activity is Artapestry, a recurrent juried
exhibition with contempary European tapestries. Call for
entries to the first exhibition has been released the 1. of
january 2004 with submission date of application form and
slides latest the 1. of March 2005. Artists will be notified
of the jury´s decision by the 1. of June 2005. The chosen
tapestries will be exhibited in 2005 and 2006 in leading art
museums and art halls in different European Countries
starting with The Art Museum of North Jutland in Aalborg,
Denmark in november 2005.

The first step to the next activity has already been taken
through the present website. The website will be developed
ongoing as the official website of European Tapestry Forum. It
is planned to complete the website with a web-gallery and a
web-newspaper for European tapestry weavers through 2004 and a
showcase for Artapestry in 2005. The website will be updated
regurlarly. We appreciate all
contributions with information of interests for European tapestry weavers. All contributions to be send by
e-mail with the information attatched as electronic pdf-files
